Day of The Dead Skull
Will will watch the movie “Book of Life” for inspiration and create our own “Day of the Dead” Skull out of plaster. Have a look at the handout for details.

Animal Texture Drawing
For this assignment you will complete a drawing of an animal, paying particular attention to texture, composition, pattern, and the other elements and principles of design. You must use three mediums. Choose from pencil, charcoal, pastel, and coloured pencil.
Complete a sketch in your sketch book and use different mediums to recreate your texture.
Next do some research and find a picture of an animal you would like to draw. Pay attention to composition.

Rug Hooking
For this assignment you will create a Christmas themed hooked rug. Use the techniques demonstrated to you in class to complete your hooked rug. Remember to keep your shapes simple and you must use four colours.

How you will be Graded:
- Full composition with shapes and 4 colours 20
- Consistent hooking so that no burlap shows through and is even 40
- All tails clipped 10
- Felt applied to back 20
- Presentation/Use of Class time 10
